Library Media Specialist – Houlton Middle High School
Maine (071) Certification Required.
The High School Library Media Specialist serves as a dynamic instructional leader, information specialist, and program administrator. Transforming the library into a 21st‑century learning community that fosters a culture of innovation and inclusivity. You will empower students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and ethical users of information while managing modern technology and traditional resources.
Responsibilities
Digital Citizenship:
Teach students about internet safety, data privacy, and the ethical use of information.
Makerspace:
Oversee the school’s Makerspace, encouraging hands‑on learning, design thinking, and creative problem‑solving.
Inventory & Purchasing:
Maintain a diverse, high‑interest print and digital collection.
Circulation:
Manage the automated circulation system, ensuring equitable access to resources for all students and staff.
Long Term Sub – Library Media Specialist Proper Maine DOE certification and background check required for all positions.
