Posting Details for the position of Program Specialist I in Undergraduate Education, Richardson, TX. This role supports the Student Success Center and the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program, delivering programming for all undergraduate students and contributing to SSC success and collaboration.
Job Summary
The SI Program Specialist works as part of the Student Success Center team to deliver programming for all undergraduate students. The program specialist will work tabling events, student leader appreciation events, and special events throughout the year. The program specialist is also expected to contribute to overall SSC success and collaboration.
Responsibilities Plan and implement the SI program designed to improve grades and reduce DFW rates in historically difficult courses at UT Dallas under the general supervision of the Director of the Student Success Center.
Schedule sessions, approve timesheets, run reports, assist with leader observations, and hire, train, and supervise leaders.
Work some evening hours as SI and exam review services are delivered outside regular business hours.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty in courses SI supports and hopes to support in future semesters.
Create and implement innovative training for new and returning student leaders in coordination with SSC staff.
Develop, implement, and administer the marketing of the SI program.
Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, and other departments and/or external constituencies on day-to-day programmatic, operational, administrative, and fiscal issues.
Create and oversee SI leader schedules and coordinate facilities arrangements.
Manage daily tasks, functioning, and performance of SI Leaders.
Develop and facilitate ongoing weekly and monthly trainings for SI Leaders.
Pull data daily, weekly, and yearly to report to administration.
Connect students to proper resources at UT Dallas inside and outside of the Office of Undergraduate Education.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, with a minimum of four years of experience in program/project development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree preferred. Ability to:
Interpret, apply and explain relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
Analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and make effective and programmatically sound recommendations.
Coordinate multiple projects, set priorities and meet critical deadlines.
Exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines.
Prepare clear, concise and complete reports and other written material.
Make effective presentations.
Maintain accurate records, files and databases.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ability to work with, relate to, and communicate effectively with students.
Analyze and review program trends and make adjustments in real time.
Accept feedback from both student leaders and professional staff and adjust accordingly.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty in the courses SI supports and hopes to support in future semesters.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions Additional Information
Remote Notice : After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
