Job Description At Regions, the Technology Project Portfolio Manager serves in a critical leadership role within the Technology Portfolio Management Office, overseeing the successful execution of technology initiatives and the strategic management of project portfolios. This position leads technology execution professionals responsible for delivering complex projects aligned with business objectives. Additionally, this position establishes and maintains governance processes for intake, prioritization, value realization, project tracking, and resource capacity planning, as well as monitors performance aligned to those processes.

Primary Responsibilities

Leads and manages technology execution professionals to ensure successful delivery of technology initiatives

Oversees the end-to-end project portfolio lifecycle, including intake, prioritization, planning, execution, and closure

Develops and improves applicable enterprise processes, policies, systems, tools, and resources and ensures adherence to program guidelines

Facilitates portfolio-level reporting and analytics to support data‑driven decision making at the executive level

Establishes and manages processes for resource capacity planning and demand management

Partners with cross‑functional leadership to align technology initiatives with strategic business goals

Drives continuous improvement in methodologies and practices

Ensures compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements

Supports value management by tracking benefits realization and return‑on‑investment (ROI) of technology initiatives

Leads portfolio review meetings and provides transparency into health, risks, and dependencies

Recognizes project interdependencies and works with leaders to prioritize and sequence project timelines

Fosters cross‑functional collaboration to enhance communication and team synergy

Partners across TODD to ensure controls are designed, implemented and monitored to strengthen risk management and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company’s risk appetite

Ensures disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts when designing or implementing changes to processes, systems, products, and/or services

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field and ten (10) years of experience in technology project and/or portfolio management

Or High School Diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years of experience in technology project and/or portfolio management

Three (3) years of experience managing project teams

Experience working in large, matrixed organizations with complex portfolios

Preferences

Master’s degree in related field

Agile and/or SAFe certifications

Project and/or program management certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP))

Skills And Competencies

Understanding of and ability to interpret applicable rules, regulations and industry guidance

Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in‑office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.

Compensation Details Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point‑of‑market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Minimum $147,178.00 USD

Median $195,920.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance. Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
