Role Description
This is a part‑time, on‑site role for a Musician/Choir Lead at Valley Ministries MCC, located in Stockton, CA. The Musician/Choir Lead will be responsible for planning and leading music for worship services, including selecting, arranging, and performing music that aligns with the congregation's values and mission. The role includes directing and rehearsing the choir and musical groups, coordinating with church leadership, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. Additional responsibilities include supporting special services, events, and programs.
Qualifications
Proficiency in music performance, specifically in playing instruments and leading congregational singing
Experience in vocal direction, choir leadership, and coordinating rehearsals
Skills in music arrangement, song selection, and creating worshipful musical experiences
Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, staff, and community members
Passion for fostering an inclusive and affirming environment for diverse participants
Prior experience in a faith‑based or church setting preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
