SH-798 Public Health Research and Analytics Intern. Position Overview: We are seeking for a Public Health Research and Analytics Interns to support applied population health research, data analysis, and knowledge translation activities across multiple projects. Interns will contribute to literature reviews, white papers, data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder-facing deliverables that inform public health decision-making. This role is designed for students or early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in real-world public health research and analytics within a consulting and applied practice environment.

Hours: 15 25 hours per week during standard business hours, Monday Friday.

Key Responsibilities Conduct structured literature reviews using peer-reviewed and gray literature sources; synthesize findings into concise summaries and white papers. Draft white papers, research briefs, and technical reports aligned with public health best practices and client requirements. Perform data analysis tasks including descriptive statistics, frequency tables, chi-square tests, linear regression, and logistic regression. Support development of SMART goal reports, evaluation frameworks, and research summaries. Clean, manage, and analyze datasets using Excel, RStudio, SAS, or similar platforms. Conduct population-level analyses using ACS, PEP Estimates, and Decennial Census data. Contribute to data visualization and mapping tasks using tools such as QGIS. Develop PowerPoint presentations for internal leadership, clients, and community stakeholders. Participate in meetings with leadership, stakeholders, and community partners. Engage professionally with diverse populations, including underserved and historically marginalized communities.

Qualifications and Requirements Education: Enrollment in or recent completion of an accredited degree program in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy, Sociology, or a closely related field. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience: 2 3 years of combined experience through internships, practicums, research assistantships, or professional roles in public health or population health settings. Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Foundational understanding of statistical concepts (chi-square tests, linear regression, logistic regression). Experience creating frequency tables and basic analytic summaries. Familiarity with ACS, PEP Estimates, and Decennial Census data sources. Exposure to analytic or GIS tools such as RStudio, SAS, or QGIS. Experience using at least one AI platform for research, drafting, or analysis support. Research and Communication: Demonstrated experience with public health research methods, including literature reviews and applied analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate data into clear narratives. Professional experience or coursework involving presentations and interaction with leadership or community stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications Previous internship, practicum, or applied research experience in public health or population health. Experience working with underserved or priority populations. Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and data integrity. Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy, Sociology, or a closely related field.
