Job Summary
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric services within post‑acute and residential care environments. This role offers a structured schedule, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to work with a stable adult and geriatric patient population in a non‑hospital setting.
Requirements
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and routine follow‑up visits
Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans for chronic mental health conditions
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with best practices
Collaborate with nursing staff, medical leadership, and interdisciplinary care teams
Communicate effectively with patients and family members regarding care plans
Provide patient‑centered, trauma‑informed psychiatric care
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
Board‑certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Active, unrestricted state license
Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical judgment skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with care teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric psychiatry is a plus
Prior experience as a Psychiatric RN or Psychiatric NP in a residential or institutional setting is a plus
