Administrative Volunteer Needed in Morris Heights!
Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is a non-profit organization that believes that every New Yorker deserves to know home in NYC. S:US works with communities and individuals in every corner of the city and on Long Island to make sure every New Yorker has the chance to find home. Because home is more than a roof. Home is stability, safety, community, and a sense of belonging. And the opportunity to find home is the right of every New Yorker.
Macombs is a supportive housing apartment program that opened in 2009 and currently serves 55 people. As such, it has plenty of paperwork and systems to sort and organize. A volunteer would help Macombs run efficiently through administrative work.
Responsibilities
Create excel sheets to keep track of systems and record pertinent information
Set up appointments
Filing paperwork
Writing memos
Concierge - such as making coffee for tenants and visitors
Shopping and preparing for events and meetings
Preferred Skills
Microsoft Office
Knowledge of confidentiality
Macombs is open to volunteers on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Because volunteers will be working with confidential information, they are required to undergo background checks and fingerprinting.
