Aquatics Supervisor

Aquatics Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position encompasses the implementation, administration, operations, and ongoing evaluation of all aquatic elements, including all water attractions and water park staff. The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all staff and operating standards are upheld to the maximum level of safety, cleanliness, upkeep, efficiency, guest experience, satisfaction, and increasing financial sustainability through budget control and labor optimization.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Assist the Aquatics Manager with overseeing the aquatic operation and providing direction to staff.
Hold regular, documented team meetings and in-service trainings. Demonstrate follow up and continuous improvement through the proper use of team meetings and team feedback.
Rotate around all attraction areas continuously and with full awareness of all activities.
Monitor and embrace all aspects of the guest service culture.
Acquire necessary knowledge of mechanical systems and demonstrate ability to operate and troubleshoot as necessary.
Establish and maintain superior operating standards for the department and create zone position charts for all areas.
Assist with meeting financial objectives by managing expenditures and initiating and executing corrective actions.
Assist with supervising, training and developing seasonal supervisory staff into competent, motivating and strong leaders.
Provide consistent leadership, a positive attitude, and an unwavering commitment to execution.
Ensure highest levels of safety are maintained by adhering to Ellis & Associates, OSHA, local health and safety codes, legal regulations and company safety and security policies are met. Ensure a safe working and guest experience environment by requiring safe work behaviors of the team.
Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications
Ellis & Associates Instructor Certificate.
Maintain positive, respectful relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including employees, guests, community leaders and senior management.
Lead people and maintain a visible leadership role.
Have highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively.
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Demonstrate ability to take initiative and execute to accomplish strategic objectives.
Flexible and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; willing to maintain a flexible work schedule.
Succeed in a fast‑paced evolving environment.
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent preferred.
3‑5 years of progressive growth and management experience in the entertainment/hospitality industry preferred. Lifeguard experience or lifeguard training instructor certification preferred.
Proven track record of fostering an environment of respect, open communication, problem solving, and highest regard for safety.
AFO or CPO certification preferred.
Physical Demands
Must have the availability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays with minimal requests for extended periods of time off. Any prior commitments must be addressed before the starting date.
Walk or stand for up to six hours a shift.
Occasional kneeling and bending.
Occasional reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
Occasional lifts and carries up to 30 pounds.
Occasional carries up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two‑wheel hand truck.
Requires manual and bi‑manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing and speech.
