Job Title Entry Level Park Planner/Designer – Raleigh, North Carolina
Job Description We are seeking an exceptional entry‑level Park Planner/Designer for our Parks Planning and Design Studio. The role focuses on planning and designing parks, public open space, sustainable infrastructure, greenways, trails, and pedestrian/bicycle facilities. You will work across the project lifecycle, collaborating with architects, engineers, economists, and community outreach professionals to deliver award‑winning projects.
Responsibilities
Compile data and conduct research to support project delivery.
Create graphics to support planning documents.
Play a key role in the preparation of plans.
Write sections of planning reports and documents.
Produce material for project meetings and workshops.
Participate in on‑site workshops in a support role.
Communicate effectively with the project team and manager.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, or equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related planning field.
Related professional or internship experience.
Positive outlook and can‑do attitude toward teamwork.
Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.
Excellent time‑management skills and ability to balance priorities.
Effective problem‑solving and analytical skills.
High level of attention to detail and organization.
Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
Creative and innovative graphics and project layout skills.
Follow guidance with minimal oversight.
Proficiency with ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, AutoCAD, SketchUp Pro, and Photoshop.
