Position Summary
Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Nearly 4,200 physicians, representing more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties have privileges across the Orlando Health system, which employs nearly 22,000 team members. Responsibilities
Perform daily duties to establish and maintain a safe, clean, and healing environment, including managing contact with patients, visitors, and staff.
Transport regular waste, soiled linen, bio‑hazardous waste, recycling waste, and maintain trash containers.
Operate outside cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, leaf blowers, Billy Goat, and cart washing machines.
Maintain a clean and safe environment around the linen room, dumpster/bio‑trailer area, and all patient and non‑patient areas.
Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and units/departments for linen requests.
Disinfect and clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, bathrooms, corridors, medication storage rooms, and other designated areas using appropriate chemicals and procedures.
Maintain equipment in a clean and functional condition and keep work areas orderly, safe, and free from spills.
Operate hand-held computers or manual systems to credit and debit clean linen and record telephone requests on the Telephone Log.
Weigh and record clean and reject linen during delivery and pickup; record laundry truck lock tag number to Weight Log.
Deliver clean linen to user areas at established par levels.
Maintain punctual attendance and comply with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and all federal, state, and local standards.
Work independently to complete tasks as assigned and maintain compliance with all policies and procedures.
Qualifications Education : High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Licensure/Certification :
DOT certification within the first 90 days.
Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) preferred.
Linen Helper Software or similar proficiency.
Experience :
Three (3) or more years in health-care support services, environmental services, hospitality, or related field.
One (1) or more years as a porter or warehouse worker.
