Position Summary
Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly‑owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in‑patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Nearly 4,200 physicians, representing more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties, have privileges across the Orlando Health system, which employs nearly 22,000 team members. Areas of clinical excellence are orthopedics, heart and vascular, cancer care, neurosciences, surgery, pediatric specialties, neonatology, women’s health and trauma.

Responsibilities
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, using appropriate designated engagement techniques.
Responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms and ancillary areas, to include, but not limited to, bathrooms, public areas, corridors, medication storage rooms as directed and any other areas that may require attention using designated and appropriate chemicals and cleaning procedures.
Must have good working knowledge and be capable of accessing and using all department related technology systems, such as but not limited to, the Bed Management systems.
Replenishes supplies as needed, removes bio‑medical waste, trash and soiled linen as required daily and changes cubicle/window curtains as needed.
Completes patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and overall cleanliness standards utilizing the approved procedures for patient room cleaning to include Bed Management systems where applicable.
Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor‑saving products for all items within the healthcare environment for which tasked with servicing.
Adheres to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
Operates UV disinfection machine as needed.
Actively participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives to improve Customer Experience and cleanliness metrics.
Follows all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
Reports unsafe situations and turns in Engineering Service Requests for repair.
Ability to communicate, read, and write in standard English as this is the main business language.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
