Compensation $39.22 per hour (Step 1) with progressive increases through Step 8. See schedule below.

Schedule Full‑time. Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am–6:00 pm. Travel required, including occasional overnight stays. Must provide own transportation.

Job Description The Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations (OUIO) administers Ohio’s unemployment insurance program. This role manages outreach, leads staff, coordinates policy, and represents the Bureau Chief at partner meetings.

Responsibilities

Act on behalf of the Bureau Chief to lead staff, manage statewide outreach, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

Direct staff, facilitate policy meetings, and assume full authority in the Bureau Chief’s absence.

Develop and update programs and policies, provide technical guidance, and prepare reports and presentations.

Oversee personnel and services, support onboarding, and coordinate staff training initiatives.

Represent the Bureau Chief at meetings and conferences with state, federal, and community partners.

Qualifications (Minimum) Minimum of one of the following options:

Option 1: Undergraduate degree in business administration, management, or public administration plus 36 months of supervisory/administrative/managerial experience.

Option 2: Undergraduate degree in a field consistent with the program area plus 36 months of supervisory or managerial experience involving planning, research, or policy development.

Option 3: Five years of training or experience in business administration, management, or public administration.

Option 4: One year experience as a Program Administrator 2 (63123).

Option 5: Equivalent minimum class qualifications.

Pay Schedule State of Ohio E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 14. Starting at $39.22 per hour ($81,578 annually) for Step 1. Progressive increases lead to $55.99 per hour ($116,459 annually) at Step 8. Step increases occur at 6 months and annually thereafter.
