Generate invoices to Customers, Trustees, Donors, Students and other revenue sources
Prepare Payment requests for vendors initiated by Finance Dept.
Coordinate with NYC Finance re: exemption, payments and renewal of exemption
Enter all data transactions – accounts payable vendors, cash receipts, accounts receivable and credit card activity- into the general ledger
Review staff reimbursement signed off by Dept. Heads before check writing
Collect and prepare cash receipts for deposits, make bank deposits and maintain accounting files for all payments and accounts receivable
Track and reconcile on account charges with Condo Management
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and budget reports
Assist colleagues with accounting and finance related inquiries
Compile audit and other materials as required for all audits and compliance reporting
Reconcile Accounts Receivable sub-ledger with General Ledger
Reconcile Revenue from Development, Education, Special events revenue and Gallery after month end closing
Process charges and refunds to Square and online express
Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance and CFO
Position Criteria
Bachelor’s degree or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required) High degree of computer literacy, especially with spreadsheets (Required) Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills (Required) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (Required) Experience using Quick books (Preferred) Accounting experience in a non-profit or educational setting (Preferred) No phone calls please.
