Job Summary Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of the Medical Contact Center, the MCC Call Agent answers calls from state‑wide and out‑of‑state physicians. The agent forwards calls to appropriate physicians and UK Healthcare clinics, divisions, and departments, and facilitates calls from referring physicians for transfers and admission to UKHC. Agents interact with professionals working under time constraints and patients experiencing serious health events, providing a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and courtesy while initiating callers’ requests. The selected candidate must learn a working knowledge of the UK HealthCare system, general medical terminology, procedures, and information regarding hospital programs and services.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology, outstanding customer service, ability to use multiple computer applications including an Internet‑based phone system, multitasking, team collaboration, typing speed, attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills.

Other Information No supervisory responsibilities. Preferred education: some college and at least three full years of related employment experience.
