Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented
Assistant Packaging Lead
to support daily packaging operations in a fast-paced cannabis manufacturing facility. This role assists the Packaging Lead in coordinating staff, maintaining compliance, meeting production goals, and ensuring quality standards are upheld. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, leads by example, and thrives in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Packaging Lead in overseeing daily packaging operations and workflows
Support scheduling, task delegation, and productivity tracking for packaging staff
Ensure all packaging activities comply with internal SOPs and state regulations
Verify product counts, labeling accuracy, lot numbers, and batch documentation
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant packaging workspace
Assist with inventory tracking of packaging materials and finished goods
Train new packaging employees and reinforce proper procedures and safety standards
Identify inefficiencies or issues and elevate to the Packaging Lead or management
Act as the lead when the Packaging Lead is unavailable
Qualifications
Previous experience in packaging, manufacturing, or production (cannabis experience preferred)
Leadership or lead experience strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely
Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment
Comfortable with standing for long periods and repetitive tasks
Basic computer skills and ability to complete production documentation
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of cannabis compliance and seed-to-sale tracking systems
Experience training or mentoring employees
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Manual dexterity for packaging tasks
