Job Summary The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for site development and coordination of all student clinical degree placements with clinical facility partners for the Nurse Practitioner (MS and DNP programs), in the CUSON located at the Clemson School of Nursing building in Greenville, SC. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
30% Essential – Management and Oversight: Collaborates and consults with faculty to determine clinical placement needs and experiences for students; identifies agency requirements at each clinical placement location and communicates these to clinical faculty; oversees the development and management of accurate records regarding clinical placements and clinical compliance in Typhon, My Clinical Exchange and other mandated systems; maintains clinical database of approved clinical sites and clinical preceptor compliance requirements; generates reports as necessary. Maintains relationships with providers and schedules orientations as required by agency (HIPAA, EPIC, etc.)
30% Essential – Communication: Initiates and maintains effective communication with clinical agencies, preceptors and clinical course faculty regarding clinical sites and placements; participates in formal and informal agency updates on a regular basis; communicates with SON administration on potential preceptor and clinical faculty needs; communicates with Lead Faculty on any clinical issues that may arise during student rotations; collaborates with the SON personnel liaison to ensure students submit clinical clearance documents for clinical experiences.
20% Essential – Outreach Coordination: Identifies new clinical sites, affiliations and preceptors and works with the SON Contracts and Accreditation Compliance position to support the establishment of new contracts; maintains positive working relationships with clinical sites, preceptors, faculty and students. Support with preceptor and student recruitment events (Career Fair, CU SON conferences, Prisma conferences).
20% Essential – Program Support: Plans and prepares clinical orientation for students and clinical faculty each semester; advocates for program and students needs when appropriate; works in close coordination with lead faculty for clinical courses, the Chief Academic Nursing Officer and Director for the School of Nursing and Associate Director of Graduate programs.
Minimum Requirements
Education – 1st Associate's Degree. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience.
Licenses –
RN Registered . Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
Some positions require a valid driver's license.
Also, some positions require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Preferred Requirements
Education – 1st Master's Degree – Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in SC.
Licenses –
APRN Advance Practice Nurse .
Responsibilities JOB KNOWLEDGE – Comprehensive Job Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of theories and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities – Acts as Lead: Guides the work of others who perform essentially the same work.
Budgetary Responsibilities – Monitors Budget: Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.
Physical Requirements
10% – Stand for prolonged period.
80% – Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period.
100% – Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself.
100% – Perceive, observe, clarity of vision.
Working Conditions 0%
Work Schedule Standard Hrs: 37.5; Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm.
Compensation Information Expected range $57,334.00 – $76,000.00. Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
