Internship Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics & Finance
$38,000–$40,000 annually (paid weekly + bonus potential)
Murtha & Flischel is a well-established CPA firm specializing in tax preparation and accounting services. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and personable Front Office Administrator to be the welcoming first point of contact for our clients and a key support member of our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, client interaction, and keeping an office running smoothly — especially in a professional services environment.
What You’ll Do:
Answer incoming calls and assist clients with general questions and appointment scheduling
Keep the front office organized, orderly, and client-ready at all times
Maintain accurate, organized physical and digital client files while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive client information
Ensure client information is consistent and up to date across internal systems
Review completed tax returns for accuracy and manage client delivery, signatures, and invoicing using established procedures
Track outstanding signatures and payments for processed returns and follow up as needed
Support general front office and administrative tasks as needed
Schedule & Workload Expectations:
Peak tax season (January–April) is busier, with higher call volume and time-sensitive tasks
Occasional extended hours may be required during peak season (communicated well in advance)
Outside of tax season, hours and workload are steady and predictable
What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent required (students or recent graduates encouraged to apply)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable learning new technology and systems (UltraTax, TaxDome, Monday.com)
Organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Prior administrative, customer service, or office experience is a plus
Self-starter with strong time-management skills who takes initiative during slower periods
A supportive, collaborative team environment
where colleagues help each other succeed.
A culture that feels like family
— we celebrate milestones, share knowledge, and value the personal connections that make work meaningful
Professional growth and development
— we encourage learning, skill building, and career advancement, especially for those interested in expanding within accounting and tax operations.
Clear processes and structured training
that help new team members thrive, even if they’re new to tax or accounting environments.
Meaningful work with opportunities
to support broader firm operations and develop skills beyond core front office responsibilities.
