Printpack Jackson is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Press Operator. An ideal candidate will have strong initiative, prior machine operating experience, and strong troubleshooting skills on heavy machinery.
Shift Details 3rd shift (11p-7a) Monday - Friday. Candidates must be willing to transition to either 2nd or 3rd shift. Starting pay is $23.58/hr with a $2.50/hr shift differential for hours worked between 7p and 7a.
Candidates must be able to train on days for 4-6 months before transitioning to a permanent shift, but this is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities The Press Operator is responsible for the overall operation of the press. Duties include, but are not limited to: job set up (which includes changing print cylinders, anilox rolls, ink, doctor blades) as well as the efficient operation of the press. This involves producing material to specification, color matching, and adjusting equipment to achieve the best product at optimal speed.
Required Skills
High School diploma or GED
A score of 14/14 on the Ishihara's Test for Color Blindness
Prior experience as a Press Assistant/Operator, Ink or Pre-press Technician
Able to read layouts
Attention to detail
Able to read measuring instruments including a tape measure
Knowledge of dimensional measurements
Able to work with fractions and decimals
Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. individually, and bend and stoop to access lower decks of the press
Willingness and ability to work any shift
Associates in Formal or greater level of counseling are not eligible to apply
Eligibility Internal applicants must not be in a formal state of counseling or higher.
