Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Buford, Georgia.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Pay: $30.50 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)

Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Weekends OFF

Hours: Second Shift – Monday 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm; Tuesday - Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or Technical Certification; Post‑Secondary degree or Technical Certifications (preferred)

Basic tools are required

Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:

Routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)

Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems (required)

Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

All other certifications required by location (required)

Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment

Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.

This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. Requirements:

Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass Ryder Drug Test

Pass DOT physical

Pass Ryder road test

Pass Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including:

Standard vehicle maintenance

Preventive maintenance

Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable

Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision

Replace defective components as instructed

Work unsupervised on most tasks

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task

Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation

Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)

Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels

Demonstrate ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents

Other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support

SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)

Complete 2 of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days, per location fleet mix
