Posting Summary: Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level in the
Department of Pharmacology . The successful candidate will conduct research in areas such as cell signaling, growth control, gene expression, oncology, host‑pathogen interactions, ion channel biophysics, metabolic and liver disease, pulmonary medicine, translational pharmacology, and drug discovery. The role includes teaching, mentoring, and service in addition to developing an externally funded research program. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a robust, externally funded research program related to human health, disease, and development. Teach graduate, undergraduate, and professional–student courses as assigned, with growing responsibilities commensurate with rank. Mentor and advise students and trainees at all levels. Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach. Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with other departments, institutes, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute, etc. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent with postdoctoral experience; a demonstrated record of significant research achievement; potential to build an independent program; commitment to teaching and mentoring; outstanding publication record. Preferred Qualifications:
Junior candidates with strong postdoctoral productivity and clear potential for an independent, externally funded program; mid‑career candidates with a sustained record of original research and established funding.
