Tessera is seeking a versatile and dependable General Maintenance Worker to support a wide range of facility upkeep and repair tasks at USAFA. This role involves performing skilled, semi‑skilled, and unskilled maintenance duties across plumbing, electrical, structural, and mechanical systems, while ensuring safety, quality, and operational readiness.
Typical Duties
Perform skilled, semi‑skilled, and unskilled maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, structural, and mechanical systems, including patching walls, replacing fixtures, and repairing concrete surfaces
Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment such as snowplows, forklifts, asphalt rollers, and powered tools for demolition, pavement repair, and signage installation
Support seasonal operations including snow removal, deicing, and grounds cleanup, with availability for extended shifts during weather events
Assist in preventive maintenance of pools, fountains, gates, doors, and carpentry systems; clean mechanical rooms and change filters, belts, and batteries
Respond to customer inquiries, perform building inspections, document issues, and communicate repair status to supervisors and work control
Maintain accountability for tools and equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and use mobile devices for timekeeping and work order management
Collaborate with other departments to support athletic facility prep, furniture moves, warehouse operations, and utility maintenance tasks
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of general maintenance experience preferred
Familiarity with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in varied environments
Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork
Physical Requirements
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
