INTRODUCTION POAH Communities is a mission‑driven organization managing over 13,000 affordable housing apartments. We look for a highly qualified maintenance technician who can support our portfolio of properties and contribute to resident success.
ABOUT THE ROLE As a Maintenance Technician at Biltmore Hills, a 50‑unit apartment complex in Raleigh, you will take ownership of physical upkeep and repairs, ensuring compliance with building codes, HUD standards, and other regulatory requirements.
ABOUT YOUR IMPACT
Support the Property Manager by repairing and maintaining the physical conditions of the property to meet building codes and HUD standards.
Manage work orders through the Yardi software system, ensuring timely completion within 24 hours of submission.
Implement and maintain systems that maximize resident and employee safety and protect physical assets.
Handle resident relations and customer inquiries with professionalism.
ABOUT YOU
One to five years of direct experience in property management or related fields.
Post‑high school education, apprenticeship, or technical training (preferred).
Expertise in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs for multifamily communities.
Experience managing preventative and reactive maintenance obligations.
Vendor relationship management for projects and routine maintenance (plus).
Strong problem‑solving and solution‑creation skills.
Availability for periodic flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Travel by plane or automobile may be required; must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance.
Capability to perform physical duties 66‑100% of the time, including lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing stairs and ladders, and using hand tools.
