What You’ll Do
Operate JD 470 excavators and 624 loaders for trenching, excavation, backfill, and pipe installation (water/sewer/storm)
Read plans and dig to line & grade—no GPS assistance
Perform daily inspections and basic machine maintenance
Load trucks, manage spoils, and maintain organized job sites
Follow trench safety, traffic control, and OSHA standards
Support the crew wherever needed
Required Qualifications
1 years’ experience operating excavators/loaders for commercial underground utilities installation
Strong plan-reading and grade-setting skills
Ability to grade dirt
Ability to operate without GPS guidance
Safety-first mindset—OSHA & trenching knowledge essential
Reliable transportation and willingness to work overtime
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $27.00/hr.
