Sr. Payroll Specialist.

ITOCHU Building Products is the largest and leading manufacturer and wholesale distributor of fencing products in North America. The company is comprised of Master Halco, Alta Forest Products, Daiken North America, and US Premier Tube Mills.

Position Summary

The Sr. Payroll Specialist is responsible for payroll processing for multiple locations in the United States and Canada. This includes working directly with the third-party vendor to ensure accurate and timely payroll distributions, maintenance of all team member payroll records, oversight of payroll tax deposits and filings, reconciliation of payroll taxes and other payroll deductions are achieved through HRIS/payroll system.

Responsibilities Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Administer the Company’s payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now ensuring accurate and timely payroll distribution, maintenance of payroll records including payroll tax filings, submitted time records, payroll changes, etc.

Assists in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls and efficient processes.

Ensure compliance with country, federal, state, and local tax laws, including multi-jurisdictional payroll processing for US and Canada employee populations.

Audit payroll transactions for accuracy, including wages, tax withholdings, deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions.

Manage preparation of relevant management reports related to payroll to various departments, third party vendors and auditors.

Work in unison with the Payroll Manager to ensure ad-hoc reporting and monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting requests are prepared accurately and distributed efficiently.

Effectively communicate payroll procedures and deadlines to all departments and field offices.

Provides exceptional customer service to HR, employees, managers, and vendors answering questions in a timely manner and resolving issues related to Payroll.

Identify and communicate process improvements as identified in the normal performance of daily functional activities.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience

Associate’s degree OR combination of education and experience

Minimum of five (5) years of Payroll experience

Working knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures

Advanced ADP Workforce Now (WFN) knowledge for payroll processing, compliance, and reporting

Proven experience with creating and modifying ADP reports

Computer Skills: MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

CPP preferred

Required Skills / Abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)

Strong customer support experience

Proven collaboration skills in working with internal team, Finance and Operations

Strong attention to detail, Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Work Environment:

Office Environment and/or Remote (Hybrid)

Physical Demands:

This job requires the ability to sit, stand, lift and/or move.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

Monday through Friday 8 hours a day; at times more than 8 hours.

Travel:

Minimal.
