In Neurology Clinic at Main Campus Lowder Building
Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
Summary Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to an assigned group of patients in accordance with prescribed hospital policy under the direction of the R.N.
Other Information Must demonstrate the ability to communicate with parents and families; must demonstrate knowledge of medical equipment required in specific units; must have ability to work with patient charts, nursing care plans and computers.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
Experience
2 years experience preferred; experience in pediatrics preferred.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
BCLS certified.
Current Alabama LPN Licensure required.
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications
Licensed Practical Nurse AL Only or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
Licensed Practical Nurse AL NLC Multi State
Licensed Practical Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
Nonessential: Basic Life Support Education with Equivalent Qualifications
Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing
Includes the services of nine (9) Board Certified Neurologists, six (6) Board Certified Epileptologists and three (3) Board Certified Nurse Practitioners. Services cover a variety of neurological diseases and conditions including but not limited to Seizures, Headache, Movement disorders, Neurogenetic disorders, Neuromuscular diseases and Demyelinating diseases. Academic Fellows, Residents and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners also provide care in this area, under the supervision of the attending MD. Basic referral information is required for new/Consult patients and information may be requested prior to arrival for appointment related to the symptoms, prior history, tests and procedures performed.
