Report To:
Creative Camp Manager
Position Summary The Creative Camp Counselor supports campers’ creative expression and environmental awareness through hands‑on art projects and outdoor learning experiences. This role combines camper supervision with the facilitation of nature‑based exploration and art activities in a safe, inclusive, and engaging camp environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise campers to ensure safety and well‑being at all times
Plan and lead age‑appropriate art activities using a variety of media
Facilitate nature‑based learning experiences such as outdoor exploration, observation, and environmental projects
Encourage creativity, curiosity, and respect for the natural environment
Support campers’ social and emotional development through positive guidance and mentorship
Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity spaces indoors and outdoors
Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp leadership on schedules, events, and theme days
Follow camp policies, safety guidelines, and emergency procedures
Qualifications
Experience working with children in educational, camp, art, or environmental settings preferred
Background or interest in art, environmental education, or outdoor programming
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive camp environment
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to spend extended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to participate in light physical activity such as walking, hiking, and setting up materials
Ability to lift and carry supplies
