Job Description Job summary: The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for performing a variety of fabricating and welding activities to support the manufacturing facility. They will be required to understand the Quality Assurance system for materials entry, follow fabrication and welding processes, and produce products compliant with the ISO9001:2008 standard. Hours for this position will be weeknights from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm or weekends (hours may vary).
Responsibilities
Interpret engineering drawings
Fabricate parts from drawings
Prepare parts for welding (saw, pillar drill, grinding, pipe bending, pipe threading, weld preparation)
Welding activities to class 2 standards using TIG/MIG/Flux‑core welding on common welded joints, (to include fillet, lap, corner and butt) in accordance with the requirements of BS 4872 Part 1
Ensure all machines are checked on a daily basis completing relevant check sheets
Qualifications Education
GCSE grade A‑C Maths, English and Science
Class A Semi‑Skilled Fabricator/Welder
Skills
To have had experience in welding X Ray quality work, 98% pass rate expected
Proof of welder approval certifications
Communication skills
Fork Lift Licence desirable
Knowledge/Experience
Minimum of 4 years fabricating experience
Engineering background
Able to understand and read engineering drawings
Pressure vessel experience desirable. Have worked with 304, 310, 316 and 321 Stainless steels
