We are seeking an individual with a minimum of one year of RN experience for this role.

The Registered Nurse in this role will be in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center at Riley Children's Hospital. Nursing skills gained on this unit:

Critical thinking in a fast-paced environment

Ambulatory experience

Infusion experience

Nursing skills such as Central Line access and maintenance care, PIVs, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product, and medication administration

Training on hypersensitivity reaction

Patient advocacy

Flexibility and Adaptability

APHON chemotherapy/biotherapy certified nurses

Team of highly dedicated nurses and medical assistants

Unit Culture Highlights

The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency

Work directly with oncology trained pharmacists on site infusion area

Encourage nurse led governance councils

Qualifications

Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.

Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
