The RN will work in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center, developing clinical expertise, engaging in multidisciplinary teamwork, and having opportunities for progress and leadership.
Nursing Skills Developed
Critical thinking in a fast‑paced environment
Ambulatory experience
Infusion experience
Central line access and maintenance, PIVs, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product, and medication administration
Training on hypersensitivity reaction
Patient advocacy
Flexibility and adaptability
Unit Successes/Designations
APHON chemotherapy/biotherapy certified nurses
Team of highly dedicated nurses and medical assistants
Unit Culture Highlights
Clinical nurse participates in decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary team
Work directly with oncology trained pharmacists on site infusion area
Encourage nurse‑led governance councils
Multiple coaches available for training
Potential to move into a leadership position
Qualifications
Associate of Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
Valid Indiana RN license
RN must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
Exception: candidates without such graduation may be considered if they have more than two years of acute care experience (subject to review by the Chief Nursing Officer)
Basic Life Support certification (AHA)
Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty
