This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. We have a mission that matters!**Description of Work**Salary Range: $39,677 - $69,426

This position reports to the Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III, this position is responsible for performing preventative and routine corrective maintenance tasks at a Correctional Institution; ensuring that assigned systems, equipment and Facility are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. This position performs a variety of trades at the semi-skilled level, and at least two mechanical trades or a combination mechanical and higher-level building trades performed fully at the journey level. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Operating, trouble shooting, repairing, and completing maintenance on assigned system and equipment.

- Performing special repairs and assignments that are received by work orders from authorized personnel.

- Exercising initiative and judgment in the application of various technical trade skills to a variety of maintenance, repair and/or construction problems and in determining the extent of repair or replacement work to be done.

- Performing scheduled maintenance functions as required and outlined in the preventative maintenance plans.

- Training and/or supervising the work of semi-skilled, unskilled or skilled workers (including offenders) to assist in the completion of job assignments.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences*** Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and machinery.**Necessary Special Qualification:** May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.**This is a RE-POST of position 60065551.
