It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!**Description of Work**Salary Range: $53,164 - $93,038

Reporting to the Warden III, this position will provide supervision of subordinate staff. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Managing the Custody section including the Food Service operation and providing for the safety and security of the facility.

- Reviewing all incident reports, assigning and reviewing internal investigations, conducting critical internal investigations, reviewing

offender requests and responding appropriately, and ensuring that the personnel resources are allocated for the maximum benefit of

the facility.

- Handling special assignments from the Warden and completing all actions necessary as the Facility Safety Manager.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences*** Documented supervisory skills in a prison facility* Knowledge of facility operations* Knowledge of Prisons’ policy and procedures**Necessary Special Qualifications:****MUST** be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.**This is an INTERNAL POSTING open ONLY for current employees of the NC Department of Adult Correction.**This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with .Note to Current State Employees:The salary grade for this position is **NC15**.
