Job Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of machine repair, machine preventive maintenance and building maintenance including general plumbing and electrical repair. The person in this role will be expected to perform a wide variety of maintenance and repair work on production machinery. In this role, good judgment, problem‑solving, troubleshooting and taking initiative is required in making decisions in accordance with established business goals.

Responsibilities

Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including lock out tag out, fall protection etc.

Comply with all safety training.

Report on safety concerns and recommend safety improvements.

Help lead safety initiatives ensuring equipment and facilities are safe for everyone.

Repair and maintain all plant equipment, machinery and the facility.

Perform preventive and routine maintenance on all plant equipment.

Ensure that repairs and any maintenance performed are reliable and meet safety and compliance requirements.

Note challenges and obstacles while recommending solutions, equipment updates, and needs for replacement.

Provide an accurate record of work completed with all parts & materials used in repairs or preventive maintenance in CMM system.

Comply with all regulatory requirements for chemical storage and wastewater safety.

Participate in all maintenance projects, which include snow removal, trash removal and grounds work as needed.

Participate in all aspects of cleaning and safety responsibilities for the facilities.

Meet critical deadlines in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Keep the shop clean and organized.

Keep the area where you are working clear of hazards and clean when finished.

On‑call services may be required for emergencies and/or lockouts during nights or weekends.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude, equipment repair background required

Strong troubleshooting background, issue resolution and electro‑mechanical aptitude

Strong teamwork and communication skills

General computer skills required (Microsoft Office)

Strong communication and organizational skills

Strong problem‑solving ability

Ability to work in a team‑orientated environment

Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

Ability to prioritize tasks while consistently meeting deadlines

Ability to work independently and is a self‑starter

Physical Demands

Manufacturing environment: Temperature may exceed 90+ degrees

Coating factory environment: nuisance odors

Standing: Frequent, long periods

Walking: Frequent

Manually select a wide variety of products for packing, packaging and shipment

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Ability to work from heights and climb a ladder

Work in a fast‑paced environment with a high focus on safety and customer service

Close interaction and work within a team environment

Power equipment operation (forklift, pallet truck)

The hourly range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00 based on skills and experience. This position will work on the 2nd shift (2:45pm-11:15pm CT).
