Overview Position Summary: The Field Service Technician Lead manages the on‑site team during major component exchange projects. The Lead oversees field operations, ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards, and serves as the primary point of contact between the field team and project management.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise field operations for major component exchanges on wind turbines, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Field Service Technicians I, II, and III.

Ensure safety protocols are adhered to, with an emphasis on proactive safety leadership and a safety‑first mentality.

Develop, schedule, and allocate resources, and oversee job‑site logistics.

Review and approve service reports and documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Communicate effectively with management and clients regarding project progress, challenges, and successes.

Conduct risk assessments and troubleshoot complex issues to minimize downtime.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and exceptional service delivery.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certifications or degree in renewable energy or wind turbine technology preferred. 7+ years of hands‑on wind turbine maintenance and operations experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced technical knowledge of wind turbine systems (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic). Proven experience leading teams and managing complex field projects. Commitment to proactive safety culture and zero‑harm practices. Ability to travel to job sites on limited notice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Environment

Regular exposure to outside weather conditions.

Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, and extreme heat.

Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

Noise level is usually loud.

Compensation:

$41.00–$46.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Competitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase.
