CS Recruiting
Carrier Capacity Sourcing Manager
Job Type:
Full-time; Remote
Responsibilities
Proactively identify and qualify asset-based carriers to service recurring lanes and project freight.
Analyze lane data to identify opportunities for consolidation; convert transactional "one-oS" loads into committed volume agreements.
Execute purchasing strategies that improve margin consistency. You aren't just covering loads; you are buying capacity at the right price point to ensure long-term profitability.
Collaborate with the Sales team during bid season to provide accurate, market-validated buy rates. You will be the voice of reality on what the market costs.
Negotiate standing orders and dedicated pricing with carriers, moving relationships from transactional spot-rates to contract rates.
Monitor market indices (DAT, FreightWaves, etc.) to ensure procurement costs remain competitive.
Ensure carriers you onboard adhere to service requirements for the specific lanes they service (tracking, equipment quality, on-time performance).
Maintain impeccable records in the company’s TMS (Revenova), ensuring carrier profiles, lane preferences, and rate history are accurate and actionable for the broader team.
Act as the primary escalation point for the strategic carriers you manage, solving high-level issues that threaten the relationship.
Experience
5+ years in freight brokerage with a specific track record in Carrier Procurement or Capacity Management.
Proven ability to source and develop new carrier relationships from scratch; you know how to find trucks that aren't just sitting on load boards.
Proficiency with TMS platforms (Experience with Revenova/Salesforce is a strong plus) and market intelligence tools (DAT, Sonar, Truckstop).
Deep understanding of carrier operating costs, market seasonality, and lane dynamics (e.g., Headhaul vs. Backhaul).
Ability to work without daily supervision. You set your own targets for lane development and hit them. Will work closely with Senior Team to develop Quarterly KPIs.
This position offers a competitive base salary.
