Harbor View Creative Learning Center is looking for an Experienced Toddler Assistant with a qualifying letter to join our team! As a teacher, you will create an age-appropriate lesson plan, build relationships with your families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children. We are looking for happy, smiling faces to join our one-of-a-kind program and create a fun, engaging environment for our children and families.

We are looking for staff with a North Carolina qualifying letter, recent TB test, and physical. Pay starts between $16.00 and $18.00 based on education and experience. All employees are awarded ongoing pay raises based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.

We will be closed starting Wednesday, December 24 and will be reopening on Monday, January 5.

Benefits:

All Employees will accrue Personal Time and PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.

Sick Pay will be accrued for a maximum of 48 hours, applied to each employee's policy, and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.

Holiday pay will be paid based on your individual average hours worked and will be paid to each employee after their 60-day probationary period.

We will help you obtain your CDA (Child Development Associate)

Responsibilities:

Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children

Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem

Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments

Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).

Track children's progress and report to parents

Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background.

Collaborate with other educators.

Help with potty training

Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Experience working in a licensed childcare facility

Child development courses through an accredited college are a plus!

Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods

Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

Excellent communication and instructional skills

Ability to act as a mediator between children

Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable

Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
