Work hours Full Time (7P-7A) Weekend and holiday requirements

We are a 38 bed unit with a nurse to patient ratio 1:4-5 depending on call‑ins and acuity. Fast paced unit with high acuity patients. Our unit cares for general med/surg with pulmonary, infections, renal, wounds, as well as patients with cardiac drips, chest tubes, and TR bands. Fun and great unit to work on if you are looking to learn, grow your basic nursing skills and work with outstanding colleagues. Energetic unit who likes to celebrate and provide compassionate care to our patients and make them feel like family.
Here’s What You Need
Nursing Diploma Or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
Current BLS prior to providing independent patient care required
ACLS within 90 days required
CPI training within 90 days of hire required
One (1) year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
2+ years of strong Med/surg or Tele RN experience in acute care setting including charge/preceptor skills preferred
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
