We are actively recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic team at General Films Inc. in Covington OH. We are a family owned and operated business that has been around for over 70 years. Come be a part of a well-established and respected organization.

The successful associate will have the responsibility for installing, maintaining, and repairing a broad range of mechanical and electrical/electronic systems and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission motors, drives and control systems. This position will provide assistance in operation functions as necessary to maintain continuous operations as well as repair or diagnose faulty equipment or machinery. This position is working on 3rd shift. Training will be on first shift.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform all functions in safe manner in compliance with GF and OSHA requirements.

Installation, disassembly, repair and reassembly of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, mechanical drives or other mechanical equipment/machinery.

Test, diagnose and repair malfunctioning machinery and communicate with Maintenance Department or Production Management.

Replace/repair faulty components of machinery such as relays, printed circuit boards, switches, motors and adjust mechanical parts as necessary.

Adjust, align, and calibrate equipment.

Complete Preventative Maintenance activities as assigned.

Record appropriate equipment information concerning equipment repairs and performance through the work order system.

Inform facility leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and relay to other departments if necessary.

Maintain clean work environment and document housekeeping and 5S compliance.

Other duties may be required or assigned.

Job Requirements:

Industrial maintenance experience is required (may include Skilled Trades programs or Military education)

Some mechanical and /or industrial electrical maintenance experience.

Must be proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, meters, calibrators, programmers, and other tooling typical of mechanical service.

Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldy parts weighing up to 100 lbs.

Must be able to work in a team environment.

High School Diploma or GED

Essential Functions:

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for safe operating condition

Locates sources if a problem and disassemble machinery and/or equipment

Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components

Performs wide variety of maintenance activities (mechanical, electrical, electronics)

Conduct basic diagnostics test to check performance of machinery.

Essential experience and skills:

Previous mechanical experience

Certifications in Automation or other related maintenance/technical fields, a plus

Basic troubleshooting ability

Ability to analyze and problem-solve during troubleshooting situations

Positive and professional attitude and demeanor

Join our team as 3 rd shift Maintenance Technician:

Hours: 3 rd Shift, 10:30 pm to 6:00am Sunday through Thursday

Training will be on 1 st shift Monday through Friday.

Duration will be based on applicant knowledge and abilities.

Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Language Skills Must have the ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from vendors and co-workers, write reports and business correspondence.

Mathematical Skills Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and be able to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies. Also the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, and bend. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The associate is often required climb/descend steps.

The associate is frequently required to lift and/or manipulate up to 50 pounds, regularly required to lift and/or manipulate up to 75 pounds and often required to lift and/or manipulate over 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety glasses, shoes that cover the entire foot are required. Additional appropriate PPE is required for appropriate individual tasks.
