Job Summary The Engineering Scheduler Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining effective planning strategies to ensure optimal output of deliverables within the engineering department.
Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team
Evaluate and determine project urgency, complexity, impact, and dependencies.
Develop detailed Engineering plans, including task assignments, deadlines, and timelines.
Optimize the allocation of shared resources (employees, equipment) across multiple projects to ensure resources are used efficiently and deadlines are met.
Utilize ERP/MRP/Planning systems to track project progress against the plan, identifying potential issues or delays, and implementing solutions.
Preparing and issuing regular reports on project status, progress, and any shortfalls for stakeholders and management.
Collaborate with a variety of teams, including project managers, quality, operations, and Engineering to ensure alignment.
Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings and contribute to long-term capacity and resource planning.
Analyze data to provide insights into resource capacity, adherence to timelines, and resource utilization.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent knowledge of production planning.
Experience with ERP systems, Epicor preferred
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities.
Ability to balance short-term production needs with long-term strategic goals.
Understanding of switchgear, relay panels, or other like electrical distribution systems.
Required / Preferred Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, manufacturing, supply chain management, project management, industrial engineering, or other related fields.
5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations within a manufacturing environment.
Experience using ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other planning tools. (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project)
Supervisory Duties None.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional office environment adjoining an active manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Use of standard office equipment is necessary, and the employee may need to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
