for Temp-to-Hire opportunities in Whitsett, NC.
Pay: $21.00/ hour
Summary:
This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes through industrial engineering analysis, supporting test operations, and leading New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through mass production. The ideal candidate will have strong on-the-floor manufacturing experience and the ability to bridge engineering and operations to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands‑on manufacturing floor support, working directly with production teams to improve processes and resolve issues.
Perform line balancing, capacity planning, and process flow mapping to improve throughput and efficiency.
Lead and support Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement projects, including documented project examples.
Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring smooth transition from development to mass production.
Act as a liaison between Engineering, Quality, and Operations during NPI and ongoing production.
Conduct process and quality audits on production lines, including visual and physical product inspections.
Perform time and motion studies and analyze production samples to support efficiency improvements.
Prepare, update, and maintain process documentation, including LOBs, procedures, SFCs, training materials, and layouts (AutoCAD experience preferred).
Manage Bills of Material (BOMs) and Engineering Change (EC) data within manufacturing systems (SAP experience preferred).
Identify process issues, develop corrective action plans, and lead root cause analysis using quality tools such as Fishbone/Ishikawa, FMEA, and 8D).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
2–3 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
Experience with line balancing, capacity planning, and process flow analysis.
Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma project experience (Yellow Belt or Green Belt preferred).
Working knowledge of quality and problem-solving tools, including PDCA, FMEA, and 8D.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work cross‑functionally.
