The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for executing day‑to‑day operations of the HR function with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. This role focuses on recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations while providing support to internal departments and employees. The HR Generalist reports directly to the Corporate HR team at Headquarters, ensuring alignment with company‑wide policies and standards.

Due to the sensitive nature of HR data and decision‑making, this position requires strict adherence to confidentiality and professional discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Run the daily functions of the HR department, including hiring, interviewing, onboarding, benefits, and leave administration.

Enforce company policies and procedures across all employee‑related activities.

Perform a wide range of complex and confidential administrative tasks, including managing sensitive information and communications.

Monitor and respond to departmental emails, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.

Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants; partner with department managers to identify staffing needs.

Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

Lead new hire orientations and employee engagement/recognition programs.

Support HR programs in areas including compensation, benefits, performance management, discipline, safety, and training.

Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and internal investigations.

Maintain and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and company standards.

Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and legal/regulatory developments.

Support and conduct audits such as I‑9, EEO‑1, payroll, and other HR compliance efforts.

Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

Expected Outcomes

Accurate and timely administration of payroll, benefits, and HR documentation.

High‑quality, compliant execution of recruitment and onboarding.

Effective support of employee relations and conflict resolution.

Timely and organized tracking of required training and certifications.

Confidential handling of sensitive employee and organizational data.

Required Skills & Competencies

Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.

Strong initiative and ability to work independently.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is required.

In‑depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across departments.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required.

3+ years of experience in a Human Resources role preferred.

SHRM‑CP certification is a plus.

Experience with HRIS systems; ADP experience required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Must work effectively at a desk and operate standard office equipment. Occasional work in a warehouse environment may involve temperature variations. Primarily an office‑based role with some time spent in warehouse settings. This dynamic environment may require occasional extended hours and responsiveness to urgent HR issues.

Confidentiality Requirement Due to the sensitive nature of employee information and company policies, strict confidentiality is always required. Any breach may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
