ACCOUNTANT 2 – Open Position

Salary: $54,744.00 – $68,328.00 annually ($4,562.00 – $5,694.00 monthly). Opening date: 01/07/2026 12:00 AM CST; Closing date: 01/13/2026 11:59 PM CST.
Qualifications • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and one year of full‑time professional accounting or auditing experience. • Alternative: bachelor’s degree with 36 quarter hours in accounting and one year of equivalent experience. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation accepted. • Graduate coursework may substitute for experience on a month‑for‑month basis up to a maximum of one year.
Responsibilities
Prepare financial activity reports for internal and external customers; perform basic reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
Process basic accounts payable/receivable transactions and journal entries in electronic databases.
Monitor federal and third‑party grant and program funds to ensure accurate reporting.
Audit tax‑related accounting documents and invoices for compliance; review refund documentation.
Analyze general ledger transactions and documentation to determine accurate expenditures.
Manage long‑term projects to ensure timely milestones; prioritize daily tasks to meet deadlines.
Resolve issues with external customers regarding basic financial transactions and customer service complaints.
Recommend account closures based on departmental policies; may train, lead, or supervise other accounting personnel.
