Responsibilities You will be a mid‑level design engineer with a broad background in environmental site remediation for federal and global private‑sector clients. Working from the West Coast, you will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and project managers on nationwide projects. Your role will include evaluating site conditions, developing remedial alternatives, performing engineering calculations, designing remediation systems, and preparing work plans, reports, and design documents. You will mentor junior staff, drive project ownership, and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. The position is hybrid, providing flexibility to work from the office or home as appropriate.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field.
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
Minimum of 4 years of on‑the‑job experience in the environmental remediation industry.
Minimum of 2 years of experience designing remediation actions or systems.
Experience writing specifications, basis‑of‑design reports, and developing design drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work remotely with national teams.
U.S. residency required.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain one.
Experience with construction or operation of remediation systems.
Field leadership experience on remediation projects.
OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hr certification.
Experience managing subcontractors or third‑party construction contractors.
Strong organizational skills and documentation of design decisions.
