Assistant Controller – Phoenix JCW is partnering with a leading asset manager that’s looking to add an Assistant Controller to its finance organization in Phoenix. This is a key role for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys driving accuracy, scalability, and process improvements across a complex investment portfolio.

What You’ll Do

Oversee portfolio accounting, loan activity, and investment reporting

Lead process optimization and technology-enabled enhancements

Support month‑end close, financial reporting, and audit materials

Partner cross‑functionally on analytics, valuations, and portfolio insights

Mentor and develop a growing team

CPA with 8+ years of experience (public accounting + industry)

Background in financial services, private credit, asset management, or BDC environments

Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX, and portfolio accounting

Tech‑forward mindset with experience improving systems and workflows
