Overview of Responsibilities

Member Service Representative: Processing loan applications, opening new memberships, opening IRAs, setting up automated services, and supporting Call Center as needed. Effectively explains ownership options, eligibility, required documentation and signatures.

Teller: Accurately complete teller transactions, balance drawer, cash checks, process deposits and withdrawals, make member payments, process CD transactions, and maintain member accounts.

Relationships: Exceeds member service expectations and builds trusting relationships by acting as a financial expert and showing sincere interest in member financial success. Uses Creating Member Loyalty skills to handle complaints and resolve issues.

Cross‑Selling: Consultative approach, ask high‑impact questions to identify member needs, listen for cues, use in‑depth knowledge of MSGCU products to cross‑sell and offer solutions such as Credit Life, Credit Disability, and GAP. Generates new business by asking for business and referrals.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

6 months teller experience or retail sales representative/cashier.

Either:

2 years retail sales experience,

Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting or Finance, or

1 year member/customer‑facing experience within financial services.

Working Conditions

Office and branch environment with minimal discomfort.

Occasionally required to travel throughout MSGCU’s service area.

Potential exposure to hazardous conditions such as robbery with annual training.

Job involves sitting most of the time with brief walking/standing and may require lifting up to 10 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits Competitive salaries and generous vacation time, retirement plan contributions, and discounts on loans and phone service.

Base hourly pay starts at $18.65 / hour.

Eligible for incentives as part of variable compensation.

21 years or older receive a 3% contribution from MSGCU and 100% match for next 7% in 401(k).

12 paid holidays and up to 60 hours of PTO in first year (pro‑rated).
