Entry Level FEA Engineer
Actalent seeks a skilled FEA Engineer to support engineering analysis work for new and current product lines, primarily focusing on Skid Steer Loaders. This role involves working on engineering activities such as model creation, meshing, and finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure product reliability and optimization.
Responsibilities
Support Engineering Analysis work for New Product (NPI) and Current Product (CPI) lines.
Engage in model creation, meshing, and performing finite element analysis (FEA).
Build finite element models according to standards using PreSys.
Conduct linear statics analysis in Nastran.
Perform vibration analysis, including modal and virtual shaker tests (VST).
Execute impact analysis using LS‑Dyna.
Carry out fatigue calculations and test data reduction using the DATK tool.
Conduct fatigue analysis using the FE‑safe tool.
Perform optimization analysis using Optistruct or Creo Simulate tools.
Execute bolted joint analysis using the Fastener Advisor tool.
Provide additional analysis support, including ROPS and FOPS using Abaqus.
Create technical review presentations based on analysis results.
Conduct review meetings with stakeholders.
Coordinate with teams to track and complete projects while providing product and technical assistance.
Provide design recommendations to design groups through collaboration with analysis and testing teams.
Prepare deliverables and reports for sign‑off and acceptance.
Track and report the status of assigned work requests.
Essential Skills
2‑4 years of experience in FEA analysis using Nastran.
Experience with CREO Simulate.
Strong communication skills for interfacing with the design team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in static and dynamic analysis of machinery.
Experience with tools such as IDEAS, Optistruct, LS‑Dyna, DATK, and Abaqus.
Work Environment This position is based onsite, providing hands‑on experience with Skid Steer Loaders and exposure to comprehensive simulation and analysis of machinery. The role offers the opportunity to support a long‑term program and transition to other BCP machines as needed.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Clayton, NC.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 – $35.00/hr.
