General Function Technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a motivation to learn and grow professionally.
Major Duties And Responsibilities You will focus on one of the following areas, with cross‑training to work in any.
Coating Area:
Clipper – clipping and securing lenses into baskets to begin the coating process.
Machine Operator – preparing and operating the coating machine, including loading chemicals and loading/unloading lenses.
Inspector – ensuring lenses are optically and cosmetically accurate.
Finishing:
Beveler – using the bevel wheel to remove sharp edges.
Mounter – inserting edged lenses and ensuring proper frame alignment.
Edger Operator – using edging machines to shape lenses to frame specifications.
Finish Layout Preparer – marking and affixing chucks, preparing lenses for edging.
Tinter – accurately tinting lenses.
Inspector – checking quality standards.
Surfacing:
Surfacing Blocker – operating blocking machine and taping equipment to protect front lenses.
Surface Finer/Polisher – fine and polishing lenses.
Lens Washer – hand washing, drying, and cosmetic inspection of lenses.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
High mechanical aptitude.
1+ years of related manufacturing experience (lab experience preferred).
Ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment.
Depth perception and manual dexterity.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational abilities.
Attention to detail.
Additional Requirements
You will stand and walk for the duration of each shift.
You will work with and around chemicals.
The work area may be wet, dirty, or have strong odors.
Availability to work overtime as needed.
