Salary Range: $76,685 - $116,945 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)

Bechtel is building one of the largest lithium facilities in the United States.

As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel manages the engineering, procurement, and construction of the Thacker Pass lithium carbonate plant and processing facilities.

The mine, once complete, will produce more lithium carbonate than any other U.S. facility and power roughly 1 million electric vehicles per year.

Job Summary In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination.

Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Major Responsibilities

Work Planning & Packaging: prepare construction drawings and sketches, facilitate planning of construction methods and procedures.

Material Management: initiate requisitions for field purchases, prepare quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Quantities: verify commodities on tracking systems or other databases.

Safety / Quality Control: ensure zero accident philosophy is implemented and tools and equipment are operated safely.

Technical: proactively pursue continuous learning and relevant technical activities.

System Turnover Coordinator: develop understanding of system and area scoping and related drawings required for package development.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator: review and approve inspection test plans, coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of Civil engineering disciplines related to the construction of heavy industrial projects.

Thorough knowledge of Civil construction activities for both above- and below-ground construction and material storage requirements.

Understanding of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and Bechtel Core Processes.

Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.

Knowledge of Bechtel’s "Zero Accidents" safety program.

Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications (BSAP standards).

Knowledge of current industry design standards.

Fluent in written and spoken English.

Prior U.S. mega-project direct hire construction experience.
