This position is located within the Air Condition Unit, Engineering Section of the Facility Management Service. The incumbent in this position installs, troubleshoots, performs preventive maintenance, and repairs on all HVAC&R (heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration) equipment and controls at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan at a journeyman level.
Duties This position serves as an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic within the Facility Management Service at the VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. The Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance and repairing all HVAC&R (heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration) equipment and controls.
