Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Specialist to support enterprise-level network operations and telecommunications services. This role focuses on WAN provisioning, circuit lifecycle management, vendor coordination, and ServiceNow ticket resolution within a large, mission‑critical network environment.
The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of networking fundamentals, operational discipline, and customer-focused communication, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring service reliability and SLA compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment supporting high‑impact infrastructure initiatives.
This is a hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC, with onsite work currently required two days per week. Schedule may change based on business needs. Occasional on‑call and after‑hours support is required.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and coordinate WAN and telecommunications service requests using Telecom Expense Management (TEM) and provisioning tools
Manage the full circuit lifecycle including new installs, upgrades, migrations, and disconnects
Schedule and coordinate network service installations with telecom vendors and internal teams
Track daily activities, metrics, and project status using Excel‑based reporting
Monitor, manage, and resolve ServiceNow incidents, requests, and trouble tickets through closure
Extract and analyze ServiceNow outage data to produce next‑day operational reports
Support WAN escalations and collaborate with vendors to resolve service issues within SLA timelines
Maintain working knowledge of vendor processes, systems, and service‑level agreements
Proactively communicate risks, delays, and milestones to project managers and leadership
Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours network support as required
Required Skills / Education
Associate’s degree with 3+ years of IT or network support experience, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of hands‑on telecommunications or network operations experience
Strong knowledge of WAN, LAN, VPN, SD‑WAN, and data circuits
Experience troubleshooting routers, switches, and modem connectivity
Proficiency with ServiceNow ticketing and reporting
Experience using VPN, PuTTY, SSH, or similar remote access tools
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Office Suite
Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Proven ability to work with vendors and cross‑functional technical teams
Prior Tier 2 (T2) network support experience preferred
Flexibility to work on‑call, nights, and weekends as needed
