THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN), Position Description Number

T5824900

and is part of the KS 184 Intelligence Wing, National Guard. This position is located in the Kansas Air National Guard, Air National Guard Intelligence Wing, CYBER OPS - Air National Guard Network Operation and Security Center (NOSC).

Duties As an

IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-12,

you will ensure proper usage and security of Air National Guard (ANG) computer networks, and will provide guidance through planning, coordinating, and directing all network functional areas. Work involves planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. This position is responsible for evaluating, testing and troubleshooting the various platforms and their associated operating systems and applications, both existing and proposed, that comprise the ANG enterprise. Serves as standardization/evaluation evaluator.. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND OPM PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"

Position conducts information assurance functions. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of the certification program and required to obtain and maintain certification. Certification requirements are outlined in DoD Instruction 8570.01-M

Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.

Irregular and overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / Special Compartmented Information clearance within one year of appointment

The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
